Getting here
How Los Angeles residents reach our care
Enhance is a treatment center based in Tustin, about 35 miles from Los Angeles City Hall by road. We can place you in the right program or refer you to another one, wherever you live.
35 miles
In person
You can attend treatment in person, and admissions will tell you where your program meets when you call.
Join from home
Virtual PHP, IOP and outpatient care run by video, so much of your treatment can happen from home.
If a structured home would help during PHP or IOP, supported living adds staff oversight and a sober setting. Admissions can tell you where the homes are.
Treatment programs and levels of rehab care
Treatment options include drug detox, inpatient care, a partial hospitalization program, IOP and an outpatient program. The first call shows where you should start.
In person
Detox
Medically supervised detox at our partner facility helps you through withdrawal, with medication to ease symptoms when you need it.
Inpatient
In inpatient rehab, also called residential care, you live on site at our partner facility and follow a full daily schedule.
PHP
You spend most of the day in treatment at our Tustin office, then go home or to supported living each evening.
IOP
Intensive outpatient treatment at our Tustin office takes part of your week, so you can keep up with work, school and family.
Detox and inpatient rehab take place at Embrace Treatment Center (opens in a new tab), our sister facility, and Enhance admissions arranges your stay.
From home, by video
Virtual PHP
You spend most of the day in mental health treatment, by video.
Virtual IOP
You join IOP for addiction or mental health by video from home.
Virtual outpatient
Outpatient therapy is delivered by video through our virtual program, so you can meet from home.
Therapies and treatment approaches
Your clinical team uses therapies with published research behind them, and your plan changes as you progress.
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Helps you notice the thoughts behind cravings and low mood, and practice skills that help you avoid a return to use.
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Builds skills for handling strong emotions and distress without turning to alcohol or drugs.
- Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT)
- Challenges the beliefs that make setbacks feel unbearable, so they are easier to work through.
- Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
- A structured therapy that helps you process traumatic memories, including trauma connected to substance use.
- Individual, group and family therapy
- Treatment happens in all three settings, and family sessions show the people close to you how to support your recovery.
How your treatment plan is built
A clinical assessment
Clinicians look at your substance use, mental health and daily life together before recommending detox, residential treatment or outpatient care.
A plan with your goals
You and your clinical team set the goals in your treatment plan, and the team reviews it as things change.
Medication when it helps
If medication is part of your care, a licensed psychiatrist prescribes it and reviews how it is working.
Aftercare and relapse prevention
Before each step down, you and your team plan the next stage, including coping skills, relapse prevention and supported living if it helps.
Substances, conditions and programs we treat
Addiction treatment includes drug and alcohol rehab for every substance listed here. Dual diagnosis care treats a substance use disorder and a co-occurring condition, such as depression, at the same time.

How to choose the right level of care
Where you start depends on your withdrawal risk, your safety at home and the work or family commitments you need to keep.
Outpatient care may fit if
- You can stay safe and away from use between sessions.
- You have a steady place to live and people who support you.
- You need to keep working, studying or caring for family.
- You are stepping down from detox or inpatient care.
Start with detox or inpatient if
- You get shaky, sick or anxious when you stop drinking or using.
- You use alcohol, benzodiazepines or opioids every day.
- You tried outpatient treatment before, and it was not enough.
- Staying away from alcohol or drugs is too hard while you live at home.
If there is immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988.

How Enhance answers
Is it accredited?
Yes. Enhance is accredited by The Joint Commission for Behavioral Health Care and Human Services, organization ID 660231.
Is it certified by the state?
Yes. The California Department of Health Care Services certifies Enhance under certification 300410AP, which expires March 31, 2027.
Who leads the care?
Master's and doctorate-level clinicians lead treatment, overseen by our medical director, Dr. Clifford Feldman, and our clinical director, Matthew Beck, LMFT.
Can it treat mental health and addiction together?
Yes. With dual diagnosis care, one team treats both at the same time, at every level of care.
What happens after the first level?
When you finish detox or inpatient rehab, you step down to the next level with Enhance instead of finding a new provider.
Is it in network with my insurance?
Enhance is in network with most insurance plans, including Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Shield of California, and Health Net. If you have a different plan, admissions can still check it.
Will it tell you if another level fits better?

You decide

Where is Enhance located?
Enhance is based in Tustin, in Orange County, about 35 miles away by road. We will tell you where your program meets, and many sessions can also happen by video.
Do I have to move to Orange County?
No. Enhance can place or refer anyone, wherever they live, and many sessions can happen by video from home.
Can I join treatment by video from home?
Yes. Virtual PHP, IOP and outpatient care run by video, and we can tell you on the first call whether virtual care fits what you need.
How do I choose where to start?
On the first call we ask about your substance use, your health and your safety at home. We then recommend a starting point and check whether your plan covers it.
Do you offer outpatient care, IOP or PHP?
Yes. PHP takes most of the day, often five days a week. IOP takes a few hours a day, several days a week. Outpatient therapy meets less often, and many people join it after a more intensive level.
Do you offer alcohol rehab as well as drug rehab?
Yes. Enhance treats alcohol addiction, drug addiction and other substance use disorders at every level. Care can start with medically supervised drug detox or alcohol detox when you need it.
Are treatment plans individualized?
Yes. Treatment plans are individualized, with goals you and your clinical team set together. The team reviews your plan as things change, so you receive personalized treatment at every stage.
How long does rehab last?
It depends on your needs and your progress, and your team reviews your plan as things change. Before each step down, you and your team plan for long-term recovery together.
Can I keep working while I am in treatment?
IOP is built to fit around work, with morning or evening sessions. For inpatient care, many people use protected medical leave, and HR can explain what your job offers.
Will my health plan cover treatment in Orange County?
Coverage depends on your plan, your deductible, your copay and the level your insurer approves. We check your benefits first, and a verification is not a guarantee of coverage.
How fast can I be admitted?
That depends on the assessment, your benefits and which level fits. On the first call, you will hear what the next step looks like.
What should I have ready before I call?
Your name, a phone number and your insurance card help most, and your member ID and date of birth help us check benefits. You can also call with none of these.
