A network, not a plan
Is MultiPlan insurance?
No. MultiPlan is a PPO network, not an insurance company, and your health plan decides your benefits.
Many health plans and employers use the MultiPlan network so their members can see more providers.
Enhance is in network with MultiPlan, and admissions checks the plan behind your card.
Your plan
Admissions checks whether your health plan covers the level of care you need and whether it uses the MultiPlan network. MultiPlan itself does not approve treatment.
In or out of network
If your plan uses the MultiPlan network, in-network rates may apply. If it does not, you may be out of network even when Enhance appears in a MultiPlan directory.
Treatment your plan may cover through MultiPlan
Enhance offers each program below, and your coverage depends on the health plan that uses the MultiPlan network.
Medical detox
Medically supervised detox helps you through withdrawal from drugs or alcohol, with medication where needed.
Residential rehab
You stay on site with clinical staff, and your plan may review medical necessity before it approves the stay.
Partial hospitalization
PHP fills most of the day, often five days a week, and you go home at night.
Intensive outpatient
IOP runs a few hours a day, several days a week, with morning or evening sessions.
Individual, group and family therapy
Therapy sessions are led by licensed therapists and continue into outpatient care after a more structured level.
Dual diagnosis treatment
We treat a substance use disorder and a mental health condition together, in one treatment plan.
On the call
What to have ready for the call
The call goes faster when you have these details in front of you.

- Tell admissions if you need detox, inpatient, PHP, IOP, or outpatient care.
- Give a phone number where admissions can reach you.
What we won't guess before we check your plan

We check your mental health benefits the same way. Your insurance card alone doesn't tell you which levels your plan covers.

Admissions calls your plan
With your permission, admissions asks your plan what it covers for the level of care you need.
Admissions explains your benefits
We walk you through your deductible, your copay, and whether your plan needs prior authorization before treatment starts.

What your plan may cover
What you pay depends on your deductible, your copay and the level your insurer approves. Admissions checks your benefits with the insurer and tells you the figures before you decide anything.
We're in network with most insurance plans. If your plan isn't listed, call us and we'll check it for you.

Common questions about MultiPlan
If your question is not answered here, call admissions at (714) 862-1907.
Is Enhance in network with MultiPlan?
Yes. Enhance is in network with MultiPlan, and admissions checks whether your health plan uses the MultiPlan network for your benefits.
What is the MultiPlan PPO network?
It is a network of providers that health plans can use when members see providers outside the plan's own network. Your plan or its plan administrator still sets your benefits and pays claims.
How does MultiPlan work with employer health plans?
Many employers that pay their own claims hire a plan administrator and use a network such as MultiPlan. The employer's plan decides what it covers for rehab.
Does MultiPlan cover PHP or IOP?
Only if your health plan covers them, because MultiPlan does not have its own rehab benefit. Admissions asks your insurer about the level you need.
Does MultiPlan cover inpatient rehab?
Only if your health plan covers it, since MultiPlan is a network and not a benefit. Admissions asks your plan about inpatient rehab and any authorization requirements.
Does it cover mental health and substance use together?
Enhance treats mental health and substance use together, and your health plan decides whether it pays for that. Admissions asks your plan during verification.
Where do I find the MultiPlan logo on my card?
It is usually printed on the front or back of the card, near the network or claims details. Bring the whole card so admissions can see the insurer's name too.
What happens on the call?
You share the member ID from your insurance card, not just the MultiPlan name. Admissions calls your plan and walks you through your deductible, your copay, and any authorization it requires.
Who decides medical necessity?
Your health plan decides medical necessity, not Enhance or MultiPlan. Your plan also sets how long your stay is covered.
Can a family member verify MultiPlan coverage?
Yes, a family member can call admissions with the member's card. Admissions needs the member's permission before asking the plan about their benefits.
Does verifying my benefits guarantee coverage?
No. Verification tells you what your plan says today, and your plan still decides whether to approve and pay for treatment.
What if my health plan denies rehab coverage?
Your plan made the decision, not MultiPlan, so the appeal goes to your plan. Your plan must explain the denial and tell you how to appeal it.
Does the Mental Health Parity Act apply?
It applies to most health plans that use MultiPlan, including many employer plans. It limits how strictly a plan can restrict mental health and addiction care compared with medical care.
Have admissions check the plan behind MultiPlan
Bring your insurance card, not a screenshot of a provider directory. Admissions needs your insurance company's name and your member ID.
