What is maternal mental health treatment?
Maternal mental health treatment is care for depression, anxiety and mood symptoms during pregnancy, after birth, and through perimenopause and menopause.
At Enhance, this care is called EVE, a women's wellness program with three tracks for different stages of life. You are placed in a track after an assessment.
Pregnancy and postpartum
Eve Bloom supports you during pregnancy, and Eve Nurture supports you after birth, including with postpartum depression and anxiety. Both tracks are clinical mental health care, not childbirth classes.
Perimenopause and menopause
Eve Menopause treats mood symptoms during perimenopause and menopause. It is a separate track from postpartum care, so your treatment focuses on this stage of life.
If you are thinking about suicide or are in danger right now, call 988 or go to the nearest emergency room.
What EVE treatment includes
Each EVE track is clinical mental health care, and your plan draws on these parts of treatment after your assessment.
Individual therapy
You meet one to one with a licensed therapist to work on what you are going through at this stage of life.
CBT and DBT
Cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy teach skills for anxious thoughts, low mood and strong emotions.
Medication management
A licensed psychiatrist prescribes medication when it is part of your plan and reviews how it is working.
Family therapy
Your partner or family can join sessions when involving them would help, and you decide who takes part.
Virtual sessions
Sessions by video are available when coming in person is hard, such as in the weeks after birth.
